And it was a good day for Tamara Morris with the local jockey taking out a treble on the day.
In Race 1 the Cava Hydraulics BenchMark 50 Handicap over 1450 metres the Irish import Zumari was the $1.70 favourite with Ray Hancock aboard the Sharyn Royes-trained bay gelding.
And Hancock did not let the punters down steering Zumari to victory by two and a half lengths from My Crimson Lad with Echelon Rose a further half length behind in third.
But there was a boilover in Race 2 the Perkins Bookmaking Class 4 Plate over 1000 metres.
Tamara Morris rode the Damien Finter-trained Royal Script which was a $17 outsider but the horse did not follow the script, winning by a neck from the $2.40 favourite Target Strike with Who Am I almost five lengths back in third.

Morris then went back-to-back in Race 3 the Comerford Bookmaking Open Handicap over 1000 metres.
She rode the Denise Ballard-trained Chasing the Dragon to victory by the narrowest of margin, just a nose clear of Le Chef with Clateau finishing third, two and a half lengths behind.
Only three horses mounted up in Race 4 the Saunders Bookmaking Class 6 Plate over 1200 metres.
And for the third race in a row Morris saddle a winner, upsetting another favourite in the process.
She rode $4 chance Slithering Suzie for trainer Damien Finter which stormed home by five lengths from favourite Galea Warrior.
Loud Enough brought up the rear a further three lengths adrift.
The final race of the day was the Trevor Morris Builders Class 2 Plate over 1200 metres.
Keith Ballard rode Leica Celebre for trainer Tanya Parry after two wins and two seconds in the brown mare's last four starts.
And she was back in the winner's circle again holding off favourite Fire Ranger by a comfortable six lengths, with Flossy a further seven lengths behind in third place.
North West Queensland racing action moves to Gregory on Saturday for the famous "saddle and paddle" weekend in the Gulf.
