Spinifex State College and Good Shepherd Catholic College held a rugby league carnival featuring three intense games.
Spinifex sports coordinator Emily Craven said the carnival was organised by herself and Ashlee Mitchell.
"The three games were the 15 years boys, opens boys and opens girls," Ms Craven said.
"It was great to kick off the Legends of League weekend early, showcasing the talent Mount Isa high school students have to offer."
"The hard work and dedication these students put in at training has really paid off and made for great games of football," she said
The first game was the open Girls Game, GSCC won coming home strong after Spinifex scored a try within seconds of the starting whistle. The final score was 12-4.
The 15-year Boys Game saw GSCC win again smashing their rivals 46-0 however Spinifex won the Open Boys game 26-24.
"There is always talk of the fierce rivalry between Spinifex and GSCC on the sporting field, but there was an exciting atmosphere all afternoon with the community behind both schools," Ms Craven said.
