Three Mount Isa teams went head to head in three heats on Sunday (June 30), for the prize money and bragging rights.
Gecko Outdoor Sports won the competition followed by North West Canoe Club and in third was One Short (Gidgee Healing).
North West Canoe Club spokesperson Alison Whitehead said the afternoon was a lot of fun for those both competing and watching.
"It was a beautiful day to be out by the water," Ms Whitehead said.
"We were a bit disappointed with competitors numbers due to shift work and school holidays.
"But there were a lot of laughs out on the water with rowers heckling at each other providing some great entertainment.
"Gecko Outdoor Sports team won, but it wasn't because they had two extra people."
Dragon Boating originated from China and dates back 2000 years ago.
"Dragon Boating is really popular so the Canoe Club purchased the three boats about three years ago to get people more involved," Ms Whitehead said.
"The boats fit about 20 people in each, which makes a fun and interesting team sport."
The Dragon Boats will return in October for the Lake Moondarra Fishing Classic.
