In previous years it has been held in late July but due to the Duathlon which was also organised by the Mount Isa Running and Triathlon Club, the IsaRATs, is has been delayed by two months so you have a bit more time to get fit.
The race offers 5km, 10km and half marathon distances for runners and walkers setting off from Lake Moondarra and finishing usually in Tony White Oval in the city.
IsaRATs president Kim Alcorn said it was pushed back to allow enough time to make agreements with sponsors and advertising.
"Everyone has been saying it has been seriously cold (when held in July) so by pushing it back the weather should be warmer," Ms Alcorn said.
"Everything else should be like last year".
Outback to the Stack will be held Sunday, September 15.
Details and registrations will be out soon.
