Having never attended a rodeo before, the 18-year-old said he was excited to be performing at the iconic rodeo in August.
"I haven't been to Mount Isa or a rodeo before, so there will be multiple firsts during this visit," Blake said.
"I cannot wait to come to Mount Isa, it is literally in the middle of nowhere and it will be cool just to be out there.
"I have travelled up the east coast of Queensland up to Cairns but to go inland through Queensland will be awesome.
"I've heard all about the rodeo and good experiences, so I am looking forward to being there."
Blake broke into the country music industry this year when he won the 2019 Toyota Star Maker at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in January.
"I have always listened to country music growing up every since I was little, my grandparents would listen to Johnny Cash and Charlie Pride and all the classics," he said.
"They bought me a guitar which I learnt, I then started singing and songwriting. I started performing at gigs and eventually left school at 16 because I was too busy with all my gigs and loved it.
"I performed at my first Tamworth Country Music Festival in 2017 and then kept performing and entering competitions and ended up winning this year."
Since winning the award Blake said he had been fully booked.
"I have just got back from England performing in a concert over there and CMA Fest in America.
"I then perform at Mount Isa Mines Rodeo, followed by Gympie Ute Muster and Deni Ute Muster and touring with The McClymonts at the back end of the year."
Blake said his music was known for being "real".
"I try and be as real as possible in the songs I write," he said.
"I dive into personal experiences and things I have gone through and I feel if it connects with you as a songwriter it will relate to the listeners."
