Golfers from all over the country familiarised themselves with the Mount Isa golf course and took extra care on the 18th hole, which gives eligible golfers a once in a lifetime opportunity at winning one million dollars if they can get a hole in one on Sunday July 28.
Golf Queensland's Luke Bates said they had nine holes of golf on Friday for round one and another nine holes Saturday for round two.
"Who ever has the best score after those two rounds will win," Mr. Bates said.
"On Sunday we then have the hole in one challenge, in which all eligible players (about 40) who have played at least two Masters events prior, will play the back nine and have a chance to win one million dollars on the 18th hole."
One player Lynn McWilliams even ventured all the way from Kiama on the New South Wales south coast which is about a 27 hour drive.
"My wife and I left from Kiama for the chance to win one million dollars," Mr. McWilliams said.
"I love travelling through the outback and have had a wonderful trip so far."
