In what was a hard fought game played out in front hundreds of spectators, the do or die clash for both Brothers and Black Stars could only mean one thing, that someone's season was ending after the game.
Relentless hard and straight runs from Brothers forwards proved to be an an important factor in the game. Brothers then headed into the sheds at half time up 20-12.
This allowed halves combination Troydan and Kelvin Dempsey to weave their magic, forcing the Black Stars to play more off the ball and as a result using up more gas in the tank.
Final score 36-24 with Brothers heading off into the grand final after two big wins, leaving the Black Stars with early mad Monday celebrations.
Brothers President Mick Tydd said the win came down to his forwards.
"Our forwards were unbelievable, without them we wouldn't have been able to throw the ball around our back line as much," Mr Tydd said.
"This allowed Tryodan to have more space and when he is on fire the whole team is on fire," he said.
Now Mr Tydd and his team have their eyes on one last victory.
"We are super excited to be heading into the final match of the year," he said.
"I think this is the first time we have made the grand final in something like 20 years so the boys are really pumped and believe they can beat Townies.
The grand final will be played between Brothers and Townies this Saturday 4pm at Alec Inch Oval.
