The decision of the Queensland Government to bring back Q. Build is welcome news for all Queenslanders but in particular for people in the regions.

I know most of us have short memories but under Campbell Newman and his Liberal National Party Government they sacked thousands of workers and sold off state assets.
Q. Build was one organization which he closed down throwing workers on to the dole queues.
The saddest part of that decision is that Q. Build recruited and trained thousands of apprentices in the Trades Industry.
That's of course is no longer the case.
While the decision to re-instate Q Build can't in its first year re-open every base that the LNP closed down it's a good move in the right direction.
This brings great hope to those young men and woman who want to secure an apprenticeship.
Good on our Premier and her Government.
I believe it's a good decision and should be applauded.

National Child Protection Week
National Child Protection Week (Sunday 1st - Saturday 7th September) is now well underway, and it's a chance to address issues that are too often hidden away, including the impact of domestic and family violence on Queensland kids.
Sadly, domestic and family violence is an issue that not only impacts partners and spouses but can also directly and indirectly impact Queensland's children.
The number of children subject to substantiated cases of harm or are at unacceptable risk of harm has started to creep up again.
It's therefore disturbing to know that perpetrators of domestic violence working in Queensland's public service can gain access to taxpayer funded Domestic and Family Violence leave.
No one in their right mind would think that giving perpetrators 10 days of tax payer funded leave to 'rehabilitate' is a good idea.
Worse still, these perpetrators do not even have to prove that they have received counselling to stop them from committing future violence.
On this year's National Child Protection Week, we need to all come together to protect Queensland's children.
Unfortunately, we are not seeing any significant gain following the LNP's Child Protection Inquiry where the LNP allocated $406 million to reform the system.
The child protection system needs to provide better protection and care, but sadly we are seeing more children entering care than ever before and their outcomes are not improving.
I'm calling on the Palaszczuk Labor Government to review how and why Domestic and Family Violence leave is granted in the Queensland public service to perpetrators of violence.
If you, someone you know, or a child that you are aware of needs help, call DV Connect 1800 811 811 or Mensline 1300 789 978.
If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact police.

Where is the rodeo trail?
I would like to know where the rodeo trail is in Queensland.
We went to Cloncurry, Mount Isa and Sedan Dip and would like to know the dates so we can go next year.

Editor's Note: Not entirely sure what this "trail" is but we put all North West Qld events, including rodeo dates, when known, in our events calendar.
