Bruce Leonard Winks, 45, pleaded guilty in Mount Isa Magistrates Court on Monday November 18 to one count of giving an official false or misleading documents.
The court heard how police intercepted a prime mover on July 4 near Camooweal and inspected the vehicle and work diary.
The diary recorded that Winks had a rest at noon but the camera suggested otherwise and as a result Winks was charged.
Police prosecution provided Winks' traffic history to the court who suggested a fine was in range, suggesting an amount of $10,000.
Solicitor Rhygan Werrett provided the court character references from Lloyd Hick and Robbie Katter and a photo of a medallion that Winks was presented in 2010.
"References speak highly of Mr Winks' work and involvement in the community," Mr Werrett said.
Before passing judgement, Mount Isa Magistrate Trinity McGarvie said she had taken into account that this was Winks' second offence.
"You are a professional driver and you are required by law to record your movements accurately," Magistrate McGarvie said.
"If you are overtired and overworked it can have serious consequences."
Winks was fined $700 and a conviction was recorded.
