Cloncurry MPHS is now monitoring access to the hospital main entrance and everyone presenting to the hospital, either as a visitor or a patient must buzz the intercom to speak to a staff member prior to entering.
All patients with injuries and non-related illnesses will be given access through the front door, and those who present with flu-like symptoms will be asked a series of COVID-19 screening questions.
If you are deemed at risk of COVID-19, you will be directed to the Queensland Ambulance Service entrance to be assessed.
"We ask that if you are unwell , AND have travelled internationally recently, to phone Cloncurry MPHS switch board on (07) 4742 4500 for advice before arrival," the MPHS's Facebook page said.
"At this time, aged care visitation will be restricted to immediate family members only."
The move comes as Mount Isa's Laura Johnson Home also introduced entry restrictions to its premises.
