After Woolworths announced Tuesday it would open for an hour of shopping for elderly and disabled people only from 7am, Coles followed suit 24 hours later.

From Wednesday the first hour of trade in all Coles supermarkets are exclusively open to the elderly and disabled.
"Community Hour" will help improve access during this time of unprecedented demand, a Coles spokesperson said.

Stores will also close no later than 8pm so team members can clean and restock.
The new restrictions on 100 people in indoor gatherings do not apply to supermarkets.
