Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has confirmed schools will stay open for the next two weeks but people should stay at home during the Easter holidays.

Speaking after the unprecedented national lockdown announced last night, the Premier said these were tough measures and there will be more rolled out in the coming weeks and months.
"Schools will remain open until April 3, the start of Easter school holidays. Parents have a choice, if they choose keep their children home they can make that choice," the Premier said.
Premier Palaszczuk said this school break, she was sending a clear message.
"Stay in your state and stay in your suburb," she said.
"There is no school holidays, it is not about packing up the car and going to the beach for a picnic or a swim, or going camping, it is about staying in your suburb.
"Qld is a very decentralised state, some areas dont have any cases yet, some have minimal numbers but we are watching this

"Do the right thing. We must be doing the social distancing, 1.5m away from each other."
Education Minister Grace Grace said parents must be responsible for three things.
"One, to advise the school if their children won't be attending so we can ensure the wellbeing of all children, two, to please ensure that they continue with online learning material available on the Department website, and three, to ensure they are practising social distancing," Ms Grace said.
"If your child is sick or you are sick, they must not attend school."
