On Tuesday, April 14, a woman was walking to work and a boy allegedly attempted to snatch her bag.
Police said a group of youths approached a woman and began throwing rocks at her.
One boy allegedly grabbed her backpack and told her to give him money.
A second boy allegedly grabbed the backpack and attempted to pull it off the woman.
The boys were unsuccessful due to the bag being strapped to her.
As a result, a 10-year-old Mount Isa boy and a 14-year-old Mount Isa boy were both charged with attempted robbery.
Both boys will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 1992.
In a separate incident on the same day, police attended an address on Violet Street, Mount Isa.
It is alleged a woman coughed and spat at police several times. As a result, a 31-year-old Mount Isa woman was charged with assault police officer and contravene direction or requirement.
She will appear in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court on July 8.
