Racegoers will return to the track for a picnic style race meeting on Sunday July 26, following the enforcement of their COVID-19 plan.

President Luke Daniels said the club had opened ticket sales for members.

"At this stage it is only open to members," Mr Daniels said.

"Then on Wednesday night if we haven't met our restriction, then we will open it up to the general public to book online.

"I think if we get 100 people we will be going pretty well."

Mr Daniels said the picnic style race meeting restricted contact and maintained COVID-19 guidelines.

"It is much more laid back then a normal race meeting, there will be no bar or canteen facilities," he said.

"Patrons are required to BYO drinks, alcohol, food and picnic blanket."

Mr Daniels said a lot of work had gone into their COVID plan to allow patrons back.

"We were already temperature testing everyone involved in our race meetings anyway so we are just slowly building on it," he said.

"Instead of trying to do too much at once we decided to have a picnic style race meeting, we need people to book so we have everyone's names and contact details. I think our facility allows us to keep everyone relatively spaced out, we are lucky in that respect."

Hoping to make a staged return to full race meetings, Mr Daniels said they would reevaluate after each race meeting.

"We will see how this Sunday goes, then on the 16^th of August we have another Sunday meeting and we might open the catering and bar facilities, we will just see how it goes," he said.

"Then we hope by September the 12^th we hope to have those big crows back.

"I think we are going to have to get another committee in to help us,so that way we have more committee members to regulate the COVID plan and by September 12."
