Supercars bosses are scrambling for confirmation next month's Darwin Triple Crown can go ahead as planned after three south-east Queensland regions were declared COVID hotspots.

The Northern Territory government on Friday announced Brisbane, Logan and Ipswich as current hotspots, meaning anyone entering the territory from those areas must undertake 14 days of mandatory supervised quarantine.
The entire Supercars field shifted to south-east Queensland following the Sydney SuperSprint event on July 18-19 after a similar declaration for several NSW suburbs was made by the NT government.
The event at Sydney Motorsport Park had only gone ahead after five teams and two drivers had made a last-minute dash to enter NSW from Victoria ahead of Melbourne entering lockdown earlier this month.
It is unclear what impact the latest declarations will have with almost all teams based on the Gold Coast, which is not among the currently affected zones.
But Red Bull Holden Racing Team have their headquarters in the Brisbane suburb of Banyo, while championship leader and two-time title holder Scott McLaughlin also lives in the Queensland capital.
The Darwin Triple Crown is set to be held on August 8 and 9 with another event scheduled in Darwin the following weekend.
