The last mixed netball competition MIANA was able to host was in 2019 and they had a bit of a failed start last term when they first tried to bring the competition back and had to cancel the season due to a lack of interest.
But MIANA knew was still a large group of people who wanted to play mixed netball so they sought out feedback from current and prospective members, took that feedback on, and made some changes including moving games to Tuesday nights.
So that means mixed netty is back starting tomorrow and the Association says they have over 160 players sign up, making 17 teams.
The competiton will run for 10 weeks from Tuesday July 13 until Tuesday September 14.
MIANA president Zara Kuskopf said this was also the first time MIANA has had a standalone Mixed Netball Coordinator.
"David Hydon has put in so much work behind the scenes to get this season up and running," Ms Kuskopf said.
"It wouldn't be possible without the dedication of volunteers like him, and many others.
