Having tasted success in 2017, 2018 and 2019 they were knocked off their perch by Wanderers in the shortened 2020 season but have come back to gain revenge over the Devils in 2021.
They got there the hard way finishing equal 2nd on the ladder and having had to play their way into a semi final cliff hanger over Brothers going into extra time.
Minor premiers Wanderers awaited them in the final and Townies suffered a blow losing key centre Darcy McDonald withdrawn from the team due to injury the day before the final.
But the rest of the team stood out with Daniel Seitula man of the match.
Ronnie Francis and Tyrone Turanga played outstanding and Dylan Buckingham playing the last 20 minutes of the game with a fractured cheekbone.
Townies defended well and never dropped their guard.
Wanderers put up an amazing fight and was a hard fought game which Town held on to win 26-20 and reclaim the trophy.
