Mount Isa Basketball Stadium is closed at the moment to allow the works on the timber floor upgrade on the multi-purpose courts.
The courts suffered damage due to rain leaking into the venue
The Brisbane lockdown delayed the arrival of contractors but they are now on the job.
The upgrade cost $300,000 which is being funded by government sports grants.
The venue is expected to reopen around September 20 when the next winter season begins.
In the meantime Mount Isa Basketball Association is organising some referee and coaching workshops and clinics in the coming weeks.
The free workshop is proposed for 6-8pm Wednesday, September 1. Contact MIBA for details.
