The Basketball stadium timber floor has had a complete upgrade and is looking brand new again.
The courts suffered damage due to rain leaking into the venue and the four week upgrade cost $300,000 funded by government sports grants with a specialist group coming up from Brisbane to do the work.
Mount Isa Basketball Association took the opportunity to do other upgrades around the complex including painting and a refresh.
The upgrades happen just in time for the basketball, volleyball and futsal seasons which will kick off this month.
The grand reopening of the Sports & Recreation complex is on Saturday, October 2 at noon with a ribbon cutting followed by exhibition matches.
