"Support services are being wrapped around the family and parties affected by the incident." he said.
"Police are still on the ground as are other service providers to ensure whatever can be done to affected parties will be done.
"We've made good communications with the family to make sure people stay calm and people can do their job."
A/DI Wade said police deployed 10 officers to assist with the investigation including detectives from Mount Isa District Child Protection and Investigation Unit and Criminal Investigation Branch officers from Normanton.
He also expected there to be no impact to the COVID vaccine rollout in Doomadgee.
