Northern Territory Children's Commissioner Colleen Gwynne has formally resigned six months after asking for compensation from the NT government.

The former NT police officer and subsequent commissioner has been on a leave of absence since 2020.
It came after she was charged with abuse of office for allegedly attempting to hire a friend as assistant commissioner, a claim she has always denied.
She then wrote to the government calling for compensation after the Department of Public Prosecutions threw out its case against her just days into the Supreme Court trial, citing a lack of evidence.
Deputy Chief Minister Nicole Manison would not confirm whether a settlement was reached amid calls for an investigation into her prosecution.
"She has resigned now, we have nothing further to add to the matter and I don't believe there should be an inquiry," Ms Manison said on Tuesday.
"We acknowledge her contributions to protect the most vulnerable members of our community, children.
"The NT Government wishes her and her family all the best."
Ms Gwynne will be intermittently replaced by Acting Children's Commissioner Nicole Hucks while recruitment is underway.
The NT government spent more than $260,000 on its attempt to prosecute Ms Gwynne, including surveilling her home and bugging her phone.
Before she was charged, the former commissioner produced a scathing report criticising a number of NT government departments for allowing two foster carers in central Australia to have Indigenous children in their care despite numerous allegations of sexual, physical and emotional abuse.
Ms Gwynne joins former Police Commissioner Jamie Chalker as the second high-profile NT official to resign this year.
Mr Chalker took legal action against the NT Government for unfair dismissal and reached a confidential settlement.
