On May 24 a number of items from Romper & Co were recalled because they posed a risk of choking, suffocation or death to a child if small parts dislodged into their mouths.

These included various rattles and teething toys, a number of baby bracelet jewellery, a silicone star and a nordic hanging hanging toy.
It isn't the first scandal for the company which faced product recalls in both December 2023 and early 2024.
However there was no mention of the safety issues on the company's social media. Instead on May 2 it was announced the company was closing down due to the personal circumstances of the owners.

"With a very heavy heart, but a smile to the future, we are so sad to close our doors after three years of operation," an Instagram post revealed.
"Welcoming baby number 3 and directing another large brand means my time at home, and for myself, has been limited. We say goodbye excited for what our future brings."
Romper & Co boasts on its website that its toys are "individually designed and curated, tested and approved by our own children".
"Our collections are made with the best materials that are both safe and enjoyable for bub," the website reads.
"We are passionate about quality, materials and longevity whilst maintaining an affordable price tag! Thank you for supporting our Australian owned and operated business."

The company is run by a Melbourne couple - J & T - a husband and wife team who are expecting their third child.
