Deputy mayor Brett Peterson requested the council support a resolution to request the Mount Isa Water board cease all actions to put fluoride into the water supply, noting the results of the referendum as a clear indication of what the population wanted for the city.
The motion was seconded by Cr Seymour and moved with full support of the council.
Members of the public who gathered to witness the official vote applauded after the motion was moved.
