The inaugural awards are run by the Queensland Rural Regional and Remote Women's Network (QRRRWN) and attracted entries from across Queensland in three categories: business, community and professional.
QRRRWN president, Georgie Somerset said the primary aim of the Awards program was to encourage women to identify and celebrate the strengths they contributed to their rural, regional and remote communities through their participation in agricultural, social, business, education and community-based activities.
"QRRRWN has also provided a series of webinars to mentor and develop all entrants in the program so they can grow personally and professionally to be stronger women in stronger communities," Ms Somerset said.
Mrs Curley was nominated for the business category of the awards for her work within the agricultural industry associated with the Curley family business, Gipsy Plains Brahman Stud.
She is also a professional photographer and produced the popular card series Jacqueline Curley's Outback Australia, depicting evocative scenes from Australian cattle stations.
Mrs Britton was nominated for the community category of the awards for her Queensland Country Women's Association community work, her photography, her use of social media and her involvement with the live export issue and her promotion of Australia agriculture.
The winners will be announced at the 2012 QRRRWN Annual Conference gala dinner on September 6 in St George.
Registrations close this week for the annual Australian Women in Agriculture (AWiA) and Queensland Rural Regional and Remote Women's Network (QRRRWN) Conference.
Themed 'River of Life', the conference is being held in St George on September 5-7 and registrations close this Friday, August 24, according to AWiA president Marion Rak.
"It is always wonderful to meet with women we know well, but it's equally rewarding to make new friends and learn about the industries in the region," Ms Rak said.
"We have a wonderful line up of speakers and workshops to provide plenty of inspiration for delegates, and local people can join in every part of the conference program."
The program boasts an impressive line up, including international journalist and foreign correspondent, Sally Sara and the inaugural Strong Women Leadership awards will be announced.
