But after Uncle Bob was steered to victory by jockey Bruce Wayson in the P&G Harris Road Contractors Boulia Cup on Sunday, the victorious camel’s owner and trainer changed his mind.
“Most likely not, I’ll be here again next year,” Woodhouse said.
Woodhouse was confident the combined efforts of Wayson and Uncle Bob had a good chance of winning.
Uncle Bob’s performance in last year’s Cup, despite a bad start, revealed potential.
“The jockey is one of the best,” Woodhouse said.
The trainer said it felt good to finally win after previously placing second and third.
