The selections were announced on Sunday with Hess being one of the lucky few re-selected to play for the Junior Kangaroos. Hess is the sole North Queensland Cowboys representative selected and will play in the second row.
“I think I’m just doing the little things right - all the one percenters. Everyone thinks they go unnoticed but I think it’s a big part of winning a game of footy,” Hess said.
This looks to be Hess’ year after being named the ‘most promising rookie’ by Cowboys, Johnathon Thurston.
In an interview with FOX Sport Thurston stated: “He’s still got a lot of work ahead of him. He’s still raw and needs to learn the game a bit more - over time he will.”
The Junior Kangaroos will face the Junior Kiwis at Parramatta, Pirtek Stadium on Saturday, May 7.
