Mount Isa of School of Dance has been awarded $1500 to help support the fantastic work they do within the community.
Mount Isa School of Dance’s Tiarna Rogeinalist said that as a not-for-profit organisation they were extremely grateful to win the Thoughts That Count grant money.
“It will assist us to continue providing as engaging community dance program and to put on our annual end of year concert showcasing the students’ talents,” Ms Rogeinalist said
The School of Dance along with Mount Isa Meals on Wheels and Mount Isa State Special School who all receive a portion of the grant money.
Natalia Palacio, Mount Isa Village’s Marketing Manager,said they were very proud of Mount Isa School of Dance’s commitment to the community and they knew the money would be put to good use.
“Mount Isa Meals on Wheels and Mount Isa State Special School haven’t missed out either,” Ms Palacio said.
“Each organisation has been awarded a portion of the grant to allow them to continue servicing the local community through the exceptional work they do.
“These deserving community groups put incredible amounts of time and effort into helping the community, each in their own way and with an equally important role to play. We have been overwhelmed by the number of votes that were tallied, with the whole community rallying to show their support for them.”
The Thoughts That Count community grant program runs nationally and gives away thousands of dollars to recognise the important role that community groups, sporting groups and charities play in the community.
