Motorists travelling along the Flinders Highway can expect delays after it was closed due to rising floodwaters.

Severe rain and thunderstorms around the North West region have resulted in the highway between Cloncurry and Julia Creek being closed due to flooding at Canal Creek.
The highway was closed in both directions at 8.30am on Thursday January 31 and is not expected to open today as rain continues.
Julia Creek Airport has recorded 102.4mm since Monday January 28.
On Wednesday January 30 the Landsborough Highway was closed to all traffic between Cloncurry and McKinlay because of floodwaters cutting the road at Nora Creek.
The road has since opened but with caution to water on the road in low lying areas.
The Landsborough Highway is expected to close again today as floodwaters continue to rise with more rain in the area. At 8.30am Bishop Creek was sitting at 500m.
The road between Julia Creek and Kynuna is closed to all traffic in both directions due to water crossing the road with a height of 0.4m.
McKinlay residents have recorded 113mm since the start of the week.
McKinlay Shire Council advises motorists to keep an eye on the Qld Traffic website for all updates on road conditions.
