Winter fashions were in vogue on a cool but sunny Saturday afternoon as McKinlay held its annual races.
Several hundred swelled the normally quiet township (population 178 and home of the Crocodile Dundee pub) in the McKinlay Shire 100km south of Cloncurry for the races with all the locals joined by a sizeable contingent of tourists and campers from Isa and beyond.
The crowd enjoyed a five race card, kids' footraces and other novelty events while also watching the big screen to cheer on local hopes in the Battle of the Bush event at Eagle Farm in Brisbane.
