Concerns for the city of Mount Isa
It was great to see the article in the North West Star about the changes and improvements to the Mount Isa Cemetery at a cost of hundreds and thousand dollars.

The sad thing in the half page article about the cemetery was the last four lines which actually told the real story namely the project was financed by the Queensland State Government, not the City Council just like most of the work being carried on around our City today.
It would be great to see the Council give credit were credit is due.
Also could the Mayor inform ratepayers how much the budget for Council Media Unit has increased since the council was elected, just out of interest.
As a ratepayer I am concerned about out City and our Community becoming a deserted city.

Supporting Police Remembrance Day
On the 27th of September 2019, the men and women of the thin Blue line and their families all over Australia and the South Pacific pause to remember their comrades that have fallen in the line of duty.
As a proud parent of a serving officer I to will be attending their service and laying a wreath.
I urge all members of the public to attend the services in their area and pay their respect to those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice while enforcing the laws of the land and the parliament.
A thing to remember is that these officers, like us are human and have feelings as well but the general feeling among the public is that Police Officers are to be immune to the pressures of their work.
Believe me, they are not immune, and some suffer behind a false pretense.
So, the next time you are booked for speeding and you think that the officer is being unreasonable, stop and think that this action could have just saved your life or worse still, an innocent party life.
Instead of cursing under your breath about being hard done by, offer to shake their hand in appreciation and thank them for their service.
Yes, I will be attending a service on the 27th of September and I will be laying a wreath in remembrance for all those officers that started their shift but never got to clock off at the end.

Inconsistency from Mr Henderson
On the ABC show Insiders last week, Gerard Henderson displayed a most intriguing set of double standards.
He condemned Witness K for leaking information about Australia's bugging of East Timor's government.
For Henderson, an employee must not do anything against the interests of his or her employer. Not ever.
At the same time, in almost the same breath, he defended Israel Folau's right to express his religious views at any time, regardless of any impact which those views had on the interests of Folau's employer.
This is an odd view from somebody who features on Folau's hate list.
Gerard Henderson is a Catholic, an idolater in the eyes of Folau and therefore going to hell like every other Catholic in Australia (along with Anglicans, Orthodox and Copts).
Henderson believes in market economics as well as Catholicism, yet thinks that Rugby Australia simply has no problem whatever when a star player on the national team uses his public position to sneer at millions of potential spectators.
So can Witness K plead that leaking information was an act of religious expression?
Therefore not something for which he should suffer any consequences?
Gerard, please explain.
