Mount Isa City Council has confirmed the Isa bridge will be finished before Christmas.
With the exact date for the official December 13.
Director of Engineering Services for Mount Isa City Council Emilio Cianetti said the bridge structure is nearing completion with the last of balustrades being installed by the contractor.
" The culvert base and installation of the culverts for secondary channel completed including headwalls and aprons," Mr Cianetti said.
Mr Cianetti said general earthworks by council were progressing quickly with the general embankment filled and boxing out on eastern side nearing completion at sub-grade level.
"The installation of stormwater pits and piping on the eastern and western side is now 100% completed along with the Telstra work," he said.
Ergon completed electrical pole relocation and reinstallation of transmission lines on eastern side in September.
