Cloncurry State School P-12 was ranked seventh for secondary schools in the top ten most improved NAPLAN scores; across reading, writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation and numeracy results for year 9 by 2019.
The school had a 6.70 percent increase in its overall score from 2015 to 2019 with improvements in all five testing results.
Cloncurry State School P-12 principal Christine Norton said the staff were thrilled with the results.
"The school's reading priority is gaining great traction and we are seeing a lift in levels of achievement across all curriculum areas," Ms Norton said.
"The results also indicate success in the school's approach to working closely with parents and students to devise personalised learning plans."
Ms Norton said staff consistently encouraged students to be the best they could be.
"Teachers and teacher aides work tirelessly to encourage and support all students to achieve success and to 'have a go' regardless of perceived ability," she said.
"Student progress is monitored continuously and improved results are acknowledged and celebrated."
Healy State School was also recognised for their primary NAPLAN improvement, ranking ninth in the state with a 15.81 percent improvement for year 5.
