Santa brings cheer to the community and this year will drop 80kg of lollies and 1,000 ice blocks for kids and parents alike at 5.30pm.
The Queensland Ambulance Service and 51 Army Battalion help out with the road train of flashing red and blue lights to the sound of Christmas carols blaring out from the vehicles.
Sadly for some of the community it is sometimes the only gift that some children receive. The delivery from Santa is a legacy for the Officer in Charge at Normanton to continue the yearly tradition.
It's unknown when it commenced but needless to say it is alive and well and the tradition will continue on for years to come.
