The Sign-on Expo for sporting and community groups returns this Saturday.
This year's Expo is on track to be just as big and popular as last year's event, with more than 60 information stalls registered and a variety of displays, performances and come-and-try activities set to showcase the great activities, events and competitions on offer in Mount Isa.
The Expo will be held from 9am to 1pm Saturday February 1 at the Buchanan Park Entertainment Centre.
Entry is free and there will be bacon-and-egg burgers and hot and cold drinks for sale.
The information stalls cover a wide range of Mount Isa sports clubs, including soccer, netball, rugby league, rugby union, Aussie rules, hockey, dance, tennis, gymnastics and martial arts, with community groups represented to include the Mates' Men's Shed, Mount Isa Show Society, Apex, Mount Isa Quilters' Group, Mount Isa Gamers' Group and Mount Isa Writers' Group.
The Mount Isa School of Dance, Mount Isa Irish Dancers, Highland Dancers and the Outback Line Dancers will have performances throughout the event.
There will also be an activity zone with colouring-in for the kids, a Storytime area thanks to the Mount Isa City Library, basketball demonstrations, a hockey come-and-try area, and a lawn bowls Junior Jack Attack demonstration.
