The first game back for the year after almost a two month break saw the Warrigals shock the top of the table Keas, defeating them for the first time all season 25-12.
The fourth placed Warrigals fired out of the blocks early scoring multiple tries and never looked back.
This was largely thanks to workhorse Warrigal forward Dylan Buckingham who was consistently found around the ruck with his ears pinned back.
If the Warrigals defeat Euros next week they could well be the dark horse of 2020.
The remaining match saw another upset in as many games when third placed Euros defeated second placed Cloncurry 29-10.
Cloncurry got off to a perfect start scoring in the first minute with some William Walton fancy footwork breaking through from inside centre to score left of the posts.
But the Euros wastes no time in hitting back, scoring five tries in a row to dismantle Cloncurry's hopes of a win.
Cloncurry captain Rhygen Werrett said it was Euros' sheer size and strength which was the difference on the night.
Euros once again showed their strength, forcing us to commit more to tackles, creating overlaps on the wings," Werrett said.
"As the Euros sideline grew with late arrivals after work, our chance of a come back slipped away.
"The boys all played exceptionally well with a huge improvement in our rucks and line outs."
This week Cloncurry take on Keas at 6pm.
Followed by Warrigals playing Euros at 8pm with both games at the Mount Isa Rugby Fields.
