Mulkadee challenges students to put together a public performance standard presentation in just five days under the tutelage of some of the region's most accomplished conductors, directors and arts teachers.
Mulkadee, which is an Indigenous word meaning dream of spirit coming together, brings Catholic schools together from across the Townsville diocese for the week long program culminating in a performance of The Wizard of Oz in front of a sold-out crowd of over 2000 people on the Friday night at the Townsville Entertainment Centre.
Around 30 students from Mount Isa are in Townsville for the week, including seven from St Joseph's.
They will join 1000 other students from across the Townsville Catholic diocese for the festival.
The St Joseph's crew includes one guitarist while the other six will be part of the choir.
