The mission of the families this year was to reduce bare soil areas in their yards and or gardens that are accessible to children.
Officials said they were thrilled to have around 80 entrants this year.
Chair of the Lead Alliance, Robbie Katter praised the efforts of entrants in the Backyard Improvement Program.
"Most of the entries, had bare soil in their front or back yard from the very beginning. It is inspiring to see the changes made possible to the yards at the end of the program," Mr Katter said.
"By participating in the program they are minimising the risk of elevated blood lead levels in children and creating a safe and healthy environment for their family.
"Over the last two years, the Lead Alliance has seen the entrant numbers for the Backyard Improvement Program increase by about 150%" Says Robbie Katter, Lead Alliance Chair
Lead Alliance encourages Mount Isa residents to consider participating in the program in 2022, with the program officially commencing in March, 2022.
