The reboot of the 90s series returned to fictional Sydney high school Hartley High more than 20 years later with a new cast of Aussie talent.
Season two began filming in Sydney in June 2023 with two new cast members, Sam Rechner (The Fablemans, Ruby's Choice) and Kartanya Maynard (Deadloch, The Messenger), joining Hartley High for term 2 of the school year.
The first season dropped on the streaming service in September 2022 and spent three weeks in the global top 10 shows on Netflix, amassing more than 42.6 million views in that time.
The show picked up Logie nominations for most popular drama and most popular new talent for stars Ayesha Madon and Chloe Hayden.
At the 2022 AACTA awards it won best screenplay in television, best costume design and best supporting actor in a drama for Thomas Weatherall.
The original series ran from 1994-99 on Network Ten and launched the careers of young Aussie actors such as Alex Dimitriades and Ada Nicodemou.
