Overall the family sold 146 bulls to average $10,380 representing a 100 per cent clearance, and creating a new on-property sale average.
The next record tumbler was when the sale topper Yarrawonga El Salvador K306 (9) sold for a new auction price of $90,000 for the Santa Gertrudis breed.
Yarrawonga El Salvador K306 was offered by Andrew and Fiona Bassingthwaighte from their Yarrawonga prefix, and bought by brother David and wife Suzanne of the Waco Stud.
By Yarrawonga Avenger from the Waco Chanel female line, the 24 month-old sire attracted lots of attention by many of the astute judges.
Weighing 1015kg, and a daily weight gain of 1.35kg, he had an EMA of 132sq cm.
Buyer David Bassingthwaighte said he knew and followed the genetics of El Salvador very well.
"I was really after his genetics, and he is a complete bull," he said.
"He is polled and has the power and the muscle, with ideal fat cover, and we will use him over the Waco stud females."
The underbidders were the Hatton family, Santahat Santa Gertrudis Stud, Eidsvold.
Next at $47,500 was Waco Einstein (P), a son of Waco Yale, from a Waco female, who earlier this year was junior champion bull at Beef 2015.
He was bought in a partnership between Ian and Louise Macque, Toohey Creek Santa Gertrudis Sale, Bellata, NSW, and their son Michael and daughter-in-law Danni, Jarrah Park Santa Gertrudis stud, Bellata, NSW.
A delighted stud principal, Alastair Bassingthwaighte said the sale result was fantastic, and is the best result in 56 years.
