Principal Helen Wade said the Open Day was the school’s opportunity to welcome the community into the school.
“It’s a way for our children to show their parents what they’ve been learning over the first semester.
“It’s also an opportunity to have new families visit the school and see what life is like at Saint Joseph’s,” she said.
Ms Wade said the Open Day was also a chance to showcase the hard work of the school’s youngest students.
“We also use it to have our prep art exhibition.
“Our preps have a big first semester of art, learning about different artists and different types of artwork, and they had their art show opening at the end of Open Day as well,” she said.
Families from out of town also took the chance to see what Saint Joseph’s had to offer.
“We had a couple of families who were in Mount Isa who are moving here in the near future, so it was just good timing that they were here and we could show them around,” Ms Wade said.
