Over 100 vehicles took part in last year’s Christmas Light Cavalcade, and even more are expected this Christmas as the event grows.
Locals will dress to impress, decorate their vehicles and join a festive tour around Mount Isa to witness the best Christmas lights on display across town.
Event organiser, Megan Crowther, encouraged locals to take part and get in the Christmas spirit.
“Mount Isa Coaches has jumped on board again this year and will host locals on its bus throughout the tour,” Ms Crowther said.

There will be a prize for the best dressed vehicle.
Ms Crowther said this was the fifth year of the event.
“It came about as no one else in town was hosting an event like it and we didn’t want the community to miss out,” she said.
“So we got involved and from there it grew bigger and bigger.”
The list of houses in the lights tour was still being finalised at the time of our publication.
To keep up to date with houses that may be in or out of the cavalcade, sign up to the Mount Isa Christmas Lights Tour Facebook page.
The Cavalcade will start at the Barkly Hotel at 7pm for a 7.30pm start
A route map will be available on the night and the best dressed car will be judged before the procession.
There will be a special guest star on the night.
Santa is expected to put in an appearance with local members of the Harley Owners Group.
There will be giveaways for children in attendance.
“An event like this just brings people together at Christmas time and puts a smile on everyone’s face,” Ms Crowther said.
If you can’t make the cavalcade most people will have their Christmas lights on each night in the season so you can drive around and enjoy the lights at your own convenience.
