Event producer Belinda Anderson said the projects had been funded through the Regional Arts Development funding and had been organised through YPA, Anvil Productions and Short Black Films.
She said the youth under 25 learned about making films behind the scenes, learning about angles and weather conditions. Some of the scene locations included the Leichhardt Riverbed, East Leichhardt, and Lake Moondarra.
Ms Anderson even directed her own film. “A lot of it is coming from Sydney and getting a job in Mount Isa,” she said. “A lot of it was who I have become and learning from experiences and opportunities I have got in Mount Isa.” Opportunities such as becoming an event producer for a film festival.
The Identity Short Film Festival will be launched on Monday, April 3 at the Mount Isa Civic Centre lawn. The event starts at 6.30pm.
