The plane went down after 2 pm about 10 kilometres from Normanton in the Gulf of Carpentaria region, which is about 500 kilometres north-east of Mount Isa.
Paramedics were rushing to the scene of the accident, but it was believed the two people on board have escaped with minor injuries.
The weather was mostly clear around Normanton on Sunday but it is believed the plane collided with trees near the Normanton airport.
A 30-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were transported to Normanton hospital in a stable condition.
Paramedics also transported a male patient in his 30s to Normanton Hospital with a shoulder injury following a quad bike rollover in Normanton prior to 6.30pm.
