RUBY which stands for "Rise Up, Be Yourself" is a free fitness program designed to empower women by building physical strength and contributing to general well-being, emotional resilience, self-esteem and confidence.
PCYC Branch Manager Sgt Bernadette Strow said the program would be held weekly however due to its sensitivity, they will not publicly advertise days and times.
RUBY has been running at other PCYC branches and had been on the cards for Mount Isa for a little while, however Sgt Strow said that it was through the motivation of two women that steps were taken to progress with the program.

"Desley Ah Wing and Aunty Dolly approached me during my first week as Branch Manager because they had heard about the program in Townsville," Sgt Strow said.
"RUBY is for women only and is delivered by a qualified female group fitness instructor and the ladies engage in a variety of activities including circuit, weights, spin and aerobic classes."
The unique program allows women the opportunity to combat the domestic violence cycle and foster safe relationships with other women.
A female representative from the Queensland Police Service will attend each session and participate for relational purposes and safety.
Interested participants are encouraged to contact Sgt Strow on 0404228819 or email Bernadette.Strow@pcyc.org.au.
Service providers referring clients need to complete a RUBY Referral Form, she said.
"I will then arrange an intake meeting with the participant, at a separate time, prior to commencing the fitness class," Sgt Strow said.
