A cold snap returned to Mount Isa on Monday morning (June 17) as a cooler air mass crossed the North West and caused minimum temperatures to drop three degrees in 24 hours.
Early Sunday morning the Bureau of Meteorology recorded 15 degrees while Monday morning sunk to 12.7 - but this is only the start of the winter conditions.
Tuesday to Thursday is expected to reach an overnight temperature of 9 degrees, Friday will drop to 8 degrees and Saturday's overnight will reach 7 degrees. But the lowest temperature for the week will be on Sunday with 6 degrees.
Meanwhile the daytime temperatures will remain reasonable with sunny condition and light winds keeping the maximum temperatures in the 20s.
Tuesday will reach 23 degrees, Wednesday 22, Thursday 22, Friday 21, Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 degrees.
The Bureau of Meteorology forecasts no rain for the winter period, with water levels at Lake Moondarra sitting at 76.3pc and Lake Julius 92.9pc.
