The first clash between Town and Cloncurry saw Town take an early 18-4 lead. Until two inspirational plays from Cloncurry halfback Corey Moseley (one of which a mid field chip and chase) brought the score to 18-16.
However the momentum would halt there.
Town scored multiple tries due to a few simple errors from Cloncurry. Town centre Jackson Siemer then bagged himself a double off the back of two great runs refusing to go to ground. The final siren saw Town defeat Cloncurry 42-20 securing the minor premiership.
After the match Town coach Sean Wade said his boys really dug deep.
"We were down to nine men at one stage after two nasty injuries, but the boys continued to hold the line really well and get the victory," Mr Wade said.
"Now we will go back, reassess and get ready for the first semi-final in a few weeks," he said.
Coach Wade did however single out Cloncurry halfback Corey Moseley for a great game.
"Corey had a strong game and most of Cloncurry's play usually comes from him, we always try and limit his time with the ball," Wade said.

The second clash saw Brothers beat Wanderers 48-30 in a fiery contest.
Brothers winger Dale Dempsey got his team mates off to a flying start scoring a 50m try in the first minute of the game.
Brothers coach Kevin Richards said although it was great to get the win, he was disappointed in his side's lack of discipline.
"I thought it was a good game but there was too much dropped ball, we failed to complete a lot of our sets and probably had a completion rate of just 50 per cent, " Richards said.
"Our defense also let us down but I am happy we got the two points leading into the semis" he said.
The first round of the Mount Isa Rugby League will be played on Saturday August 17 at Alec Inch Oval.
