Yabby races, high jumping dogs that can leap into a loaded ute in a single bound, greasy pigs and roosters that would give famous Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt a run for his money, will all feature at this year's Forsayth Turn-Out and Etheridge Show, which will be held from August 2-3.
Forsayth, located in the south-east Gulf Country 415km north-west of Townsville and 355km south-west of Cairns, will be all about fun and games for young and old starting with a rodeo on the Friday afternoon.
"We'll have open and juvenile bulls along with a poddy ride and barrel racing on Friday," Turn-Out president Simon Terry said.
He said Saturday would feature foot racers for humans as well as for dogs.
"The Dingo Derby has two different sections. One for big dogs and one for little yappers," Mr Terry said.
The all-time children's favourite, the greasy pig chase will be followed by the rooster chase.
"For aspiring Johnathan Thurston's we've got a goal kicking competition which can anyone can enter. There's a bungee pull and a bush iron man competition. That's just for starters," Mr Terry said.
Mr Terry said Townsville's Windy Wizard would be there to entertain the children.
Friday night will feature yabby races at the pub and entertainment by outback singing sensation, Ali S, who will also perform on Saturday evening, before the fireworks.
Mr Terry said entry was free and camping free camping was also available on-site at the showgrounds.
