A lot of work has been done this year with the Animal Management Facility and the Waste Management Facility and this has drastically boosted the type of services they have been able to provide.

The Waste Management Facility had significant improvements carried out to it this year - such as a new domestic rubbish collection area, resource-recovery areas and new traffic management - in preparation for the introduction of the Waste Levy.
When the Waste Levy came in on July 1, the Waste Management Facility was ready to go and has run smoothly ever since.
The Container Refund Scheme is going gangbusters since it began in November last year - it has exceeded expectations, with 3.8 million containers collected at our facility alone in the past 12 months.
Meanwhile, the Animal Management Facility will soon be complete after an $800,000 upgrade thanks to funding from Works for Queensland.
The facility will have a modern administration building, sealed carparks and driveways, and a new storage shed, animal-treatment clinic and stock-holding area that also doubles up as a dog-exercise yard.
The dog pens have also been added to and improved, with the installation of lift gates that give them an opportunity to catch a bit of sun in a separate area.
Council were determined to bring the city's Animal Management Facility into the 21st Century and I am confident that the community will welcome the improvements that have been made.
I'm also happy to report that following the investigation into reduced water pressure experienced at households in Soldiers Hill recently, pressure has now improved and remains stable.
The Mount Isa water service is able to be fed by two different network configuration options. Neither of the configuration options have previously presented the degree of issues identified recently. Both options have been reviewed, with necessary adjustments and modifications being made, to rectify the situation.
We thank residents for their patience, and I'd like to assure the community that the Council will continue to monitor the system to identify any future water pressure reduction issues.
It's also very encouraging to see the positive community responses Council has been receiving when it comes to our local projects and events.
We will continue to focus on improving the livability of the Mount Isa to ensure our city is the best it can be.
