Compared to other councils in the region, Cloncurry's nominations have been moving slowly, with most councillors only nominating in the last week, and remains with no mayoral candidates.
As of Monday March 2, there were 10 councillor candidates including re-contesting councillors and some new faces.
Re-contesting for their positions on Cloncurry Shire Council include Vicky Campbell and Damien McGee; while the new candidates include Theresa Charles-Scobie, Sam Daniels, Hamish Griffin, Peter Hacon, Nathan Keyes, Ronald Major, Jane McMillan and Kristie Moore.
Cloncurry's current mayor Greg Campbell and Deputy Mayor Dane Swalling are yet to announce their positions for the election.
Nominations for candidates close on Tuesday March 3 at noon, before the local government election on March 28.
