Mask wearing is compulsory in 11 south east Queensland council regions and for the North West that means that if you have been in South East Queensland in the last 14 days you must carry a mask and wear it whenever you are outside the house excluding vigorous exercise or when seated.
At Mount Isa Hospital, entry will be permitted via general entry only. People attending the hospital for appointments will be permitted one support person.People who are bringing children with them to their appointment are encouraged to secure alternative arrangements for childcare.while labouring mothers are permitted one support person and/or partner.
NWHHS CEO Dr Karen Murphy said the most important thing to do now apart from the usual hygiene and social distancing was to use QR codes to check into place whether they exist.
Dr Murphy said the would open a new vaccination centre at the Civic Centre on Monday offering Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines.
"We are doing well here now but we need to do better - this is an absolute crisis that's going on around Australia," Dr Murphy told ABC on Tuesday morning.
"We need more people to come forward and get vaccinated."
The NWHHS has delivered 7000 vaccines to date for a population of 30,000.
